St Asaph City

The Manager: Daniel Brewerton. (right)

Dan has an UEFA B licence, and this is his third season as our first team Manager. During that time he has created a strong Management team with Jamie Roberts and Lewis Hensey as his assistants and a  squad  that is an excellent blend of youth and experience  who are all looking forward to playing in the Ardal North West League.

Home venue: Roe Plas
Which league: Ardal North West
Club Captain: TBC
Key Players:  We see the key to our success within the squad as a whole.
Incomings: A number of new players have joined the squad this season.
Interesting Fact: A football team has existed in St Asaph since at least 1885 and they reached the final of the North Wales Junior Cup as St Asaph Athletic FC IN 1887

Thoughts on the restructure of the pyramid

I think the restructuring of the pyramid will be good for Welsh football in the long term, it’s unfortunate that some clubs have suffered initially with not being able to meet the criteria but hopefully the new structure will improve the standard of the football and the facilities over the coming seasons, it’s also given the leagues a fresh look with the east and west split throwing teams together that haven’t shared the same league previously

Ambitions for the season

Our initial ambitions for the season have obviously now changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all that we hope for now is that we can get some sort of competitive football going and hopefully show the qualities we have within our squad

We cannot wait to get going again.

Since we resumed training back in July there have been a lot of ups and downs and the biggest challenge has been to keep the players and a good fitness level and trying to keep our sessions relevant to what we want to work without having the opportunity to go and apply it against other teams.

Anything else you would like to add

We’d like to see some sort of plan of what the leagues intentions are for when football resumes, obviously the timescales would make it almost impossible to complete a full fixture list so it would be good to know what we might have to plan for
