The Manager- Gareth Wilson (right)

For anyone with an interest in Welsh Football, manager Gareth Wilson is a name that needs no introduction. An ex-Wrexham pro, Gareth made 472 appearances and was highly decorated in his career, winning JD Cymru Premier medals at both Rhyl and TNS, Welsh Cups at Rhyl and Prestatyn, as well as being a former Welsh international at numerous youth levels, and the Great Britain University Team. Gareth joins us after spells in charge at Prestatyn, in the JD Cymru Premier and Rhyl in the Cymru Alliance, and welcomes in Matthew Cook as his assistant.

Home Ground: Clywedog Park

Which League: Ardal Leagues North West

Club Captain: Keighan Jones

Incomings: Matthew Cook, Lewis Parry, Keighan Jones, Adam Jones, Jack Honey, Elliot Lloyd, Aaron White

Key Players: Andy Vale, Chris Dixon, Owen Jones

Interesting fact: Through Youth, Adult, Girls and Disability Football, Futsal and other sports, 26 teams are planned to play under the Brickfield Rangers banner In season 2020/21

Thoughts on the restructure: We think the league restructure is a fantastic opportunity for ambitious clubs to push forward and build for the future, where we can play against other teams that are aiming for the JD Cymru North and putting the building blocks in place so the jump between levels is achievable.

Ambitions for the season: We aim to be as competitive as possible in this level this season, bringing in a blend of some of the best youngsters in the area alongside more experienced players that are used to the philosophy of the new management team. The aims of the club and the manager are the same, to win promotion to the JD Cymru North over the next couple of seasons.

Porthmadog will be favourites in our league and the experience of their squad means they will be the team to beat. Rhostyllen under Warren Duckett will also be there challenging. They have already added quality players to their excellent squad from last season. It will be a very competitive league and one we look forward to competing in.

Thoughts over lockdown: Pre season has gone really well. It has allowed the management team time to implement their philosophy’s and the way they want to play in and out of possession. The attitudes of the players and all the coaching staff have been different class during such a challenging time for everyone. We really cannot wait to get playing competitive football again but only when it is safe for everyone to do so.
