One of the club's finest achievements came in 1924 when it won both the Welsh Amateur Cup and the North Wales Coast Amateur Cup. A number of minor successes ensued in the subsequent decades until the club hit a purple patch in the 1970's when they won the Welsh National League (Wrexham Area) Division One Championship four times and the League Cup on five occasions. Town also landed the North Wales Coast Amateur Cup in 1970 and the North Wales Coast Amateur Cup in 1972. The manager through most of this golden period was John Trevor Roberts who remains one of Denbigh Town's most legendary figures. After the club left the Wrexham Area League in the 80's and joined the Clwyd League many trophy-less years followed. The sleeping giant did not awaken until the 1991/92 season when Liverpudlian duo Bill Dawson and Roy Cook-Hannah took over the reins. In their first season the club won promotion to the Premier Division, but the biggest highlight was an unforgettable 1-0 North Wales Challenge Cup victory over the fourth placed HFS Loans League semi-professionals of Caernarfon Town before an ecstatic crowd at Central Park. After two seasons in the Clwyd Premier, Town were promoted to the Fitlock Welsh Alliance League 1994/95. After finishing fourth in their first season Town followed up in style by landing the League Championship and Cookson Cup double, the club's finest achievement for almost 20 years. Denbigh took their place in the Cymru Alliance for the start of the 1996/97 and enjoyed several good seasons at that level. The club joined the Welsh Alliance League for 2002/03 and finished 3rd, reached the semi-final of the Barritt Cup and won the Alves Cup with Roy Cook-Hannah back at the helm. Roy Cook-Hannah resigned in December 2003 and Clwyd Williams and Nick Hailes were installed as caretakers. Tim Dyer was appointed manager and in season 2005/2006 Tim guided the Town to the Barritt Cup and Cookson Cup double, Runners Up in the Welsh Alliance League and North Wales Coast FA Challenge Cup Finalists. Denbigh Town also won the Welsh Alliance Fair Play League for 2005 / 2006 & 2006 / 2007. In 2007 Denbigh Town were crowned Welsh Alliance League Champions and Cookson Cup Winners. Tim Dyer stepped down at the end of 2008 / 2009 season. Steve Jones was then appointed Manager with Dean Martin as his Assistant. Under the new regime Denbigh Town finished the 2009 / 2010 Cymru Alliance season in 10th place. Unfortunately, due to the Welsh Premier Super 12, six clubs were relegated from the Welsh Premier and the 3 feeder leagues all promoted a club to the Cymru Alliance which meant only the top 7 survived in the Cymru Alliance thus the club were relegated to the Welsh Alliance League. Steve Jones and Dean Martin resigned on Sunday 23rd May 2010.John James and Andy Lewis were appointed manager and coach respectively on Wednesday 26th May 2010.Ground development goes on despite the setback of relegation and hard standing completed and floodlights were installed in April 2012. Ex Player and Captain, Richard Williams-Cooke was appointed Manager for 2012 / 2013 and took the club to Runners Up in his first season and won promotion, remaining unbeaten in the league campaign, securing both the Welsh Alliance Title and the Mawddach Cup. Cookie led the club to Welsh Alliance League champions for 2013 / 2014 with a record of Played 28 Won 25 Drawn 3 Lost 0.The best record at this level to date. Richard resigned on Friday 13th June 2014 due to work and family commitments. Joint Managers Dave Taylor & Terry Ingram were appointed on June 2014 but left after a matter of months and the club appointed Reserve Team Manager Elfed Lloyd and 1st Team Captain Max Peate as Caretaker Managers to finish the season. Gareth Thomas was appointed Manager on 21st May 2015. Gareth’s team finished 3rd in the league and appeared in the ‘ TheWord ‘ Cup Final [ Welsh Premier League Cup ] losing 2-0 to treble winners The New Saints. Denbigh were the first team from below the top flight to appear in the final which was a great day for the club with the match being televised live and a crowd of over 1,000 watching the game at Llandudno. On 9th November 2016 the club announced that they have parted company with their Manager, Gareth after a very poor run of form and Eddie Maurice-Jones was appointed Manager shortly afterwards and kept Denbigh Town in Tier 2The following season, 2017 /18 Denbigh did exceptionally well in the League finishing runners up in Tier 2 just three points behind the leaders. The highest league position ever for Denbigh Town.Unfortunately, Rhyl FC tempted Eddie Maurice Jones, two first team coaches and 12 of the first team squad away which was a major blow for the club. The committee then appointed two promising young coaches namely Dewi Llion Jones and Matty Jones as joint mangers. Despite gathering a decent side they just failed to keep Denbigh in the League and we were relegated from Tier 2 Cymru Alliance to Tier 3 Welsh Alliance. Matty then left the club and Dewi Llion appointed ex player Owain Roberts as his assistant.Last season 2019/20 the season was finished early due to the Covid Pandemic and points were awarded on an average points per game basis for final positions. Denbigh finished runners up and narrowly missed promotion back to Tier 2. They were still in the Mawddach Cup and had reached the final of the Cookson Cup but the games were never played. Denbigh will play in the newly formed Lockstock Ardal North West league  run by the FAW in the 2020/21 season. Much work has gone on at the ground and Central Park now boasts a 500 seat covered stand and a clubhouse with a licenced bar.
