Conwy Borough
Conwy Borough have appointed Simon Allen as their new first team manager.
He replaces Lee Pope, who had been in charge of the Tangerines since the start of the current season.
Despite a few encouraging results this term, things have generally been a struggle for Boro, who lie next-to-bottom of the Tier 3 Ardal North West League.
Allen was formerly part of the Colwyn Bay Under-19 management set-up and has previous coaching experience with Mochdre Sports.
A statement from Conwy Borough tonight read: “We are thrilled to welcome Simon Allen as our new first team manager.
“Simon joins us from Colwyn Bay FC, bringing in a fresh, ambitious approach as well as a deep connection to our local football community.
“Simon has already made a positive impact with players from both our first and reserve team squad, and his drive and vision are perfectly aligned with the club’s future goals.
“Simon will be completing his UEFA B license over the season. We’re looking forward to the journey ahead with Simon at the helm and the passion and desire he will bring with him.
“This comes following Lee Pope’s decision to step down, along with coach Ethan Jones. We’re extremely grateful for Lee and Ethan’s hard work, resilience and dedication while in this role.
“Lee handled some unexpected challenges with the utmost professionalism . Lee and Ethan leave on good terms, confident that fresh perspective will help the team push on. Thank you and good luck to Lee and Ethan.”
